Gerard Hellendoorn has a diverse work experience history. Gerard began their career in 2013 as a Student Intern at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies, where they worked for a year. In 2015, Gerard returned to FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies as a Research Scientist for a short period of six months, and then again in 2016 as a Research Scientist for seven months.
In 2016, Gerard joined GBA Ships e.V. as an AB Deck seafarer and worked there for two years.
In 2019, Gerard started working at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a USP Technician. Gerard carried out this role for three years until 2022.
Most recently, in 2022, Gerard joined Mosa Meat as a Process Engineer and is currently in this position.
Gerard Hellendoorn obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from the University of York, which they pursued from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Egglescliffe School from 2009 to 2011. In addition to their academic qualifications, Gerard also holds several certifications related to maritime and security duties, including a Certificate of Service from GBA Ships e.V. obtained in September 2018, Able Seafarer Deck from Transport Malta obtained in March 2018, Navigational Watch Rating from Transport Malta obtained in March 2017, Certificate of Proficiency for Designated Security Duties from Transport Malta obtained in November 2016, Survival Craft & Rescue Boats from Transport Malta obtained in August 2017, and Certificate of Proficiency in Basic Safety Training from Transport Malta obtained in November 2016.
