Lola Verrougstraete's work experience begins in 2018 with an internship as a Factory Worker at BISCOTTE PASQUIER. In 2019, they complete an internship in Analytical Method Validation at Cerba HealthCare Belgium. Lola also undertakes a Final year Project at Ecole nationale d'Ingénieurs des Techniques des Industries agricoles et alimentaires, where they work on the isolation, characterization, and purification of bacteriophages for potential use in phage therapy. In 2020, Lola works as a Junior Research Scientist in Nutrition and Baking Science at Lesaffre, followed by an End-of-studies internship in Clinical study management & Formulation lab - Probiotics at the same company. Currently, they are a Junior Scientist at Mosa Meat since February 2021.

Lola Verrougstraete attended the Ecole nationale d'Ingénieurs des Techniques des Industries agricoles et alimentaires from 2017 to 2020, where they obtained a degree in Biotechnology and Food Science. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2017, they attended Prépa aux grandes écoles BCPST where they obtained the concours in Biologie, Physique, Chimie, Math, Science de la Terre.
