Gary Ong

Gary Ong has extensive work experience in the technology and information security field. Gary most recently served as the Chief Information Security Officer at the Agency for Integrated Care in Singapore starting from June 2019. Prior to that, they held the position of Director Corporate Services - IT Security | Risk | Assurance | Compliance at an undisclosed company from February 2007 to May 2019. Previous positions include Head of IT at The Singapore Island Country Club from November 2002 to February 2007, IT Manager at Sunderland Technologies Pte Ltd from August 1998 to August 2002, and Multimedia Specialist at Adroit Innovation Pte Ltd from August 1996 to July 1998.

Gary Ong obtained a Master's degree in Information Technology Management from the University of Wollongong in 2004. In addition to their degree, they have obtained various certifications including Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) from ISACA in 2021, Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) from EC-Council in 2020, and Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in 2018. Gary also acquired IBF Level 2 Governance, IT Risk Management, and Compliance certification from IBF in 2017, along with Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified In Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certifications from ISACA in the same year. Furthermore, they are enrolled in the Cybersecurity Strategic Leadership Programme at SMU-ExD Executive Development, with an expected completion in 2023.
