Arika Nabutovsky

Arika Nabutovsky has extensive experience in education and the arts. Arika worked as an SEI English teacher at The Jackson/Mann in the Boston Public Schools starting in 2021. Prior to that, they were a teaching artist at Company One Theatre in 2020. From 2008 to the present, they worked at the Mosesian Center for the Arts as a costume designer and teaching artist. Arika also worked at Chelsea High School from 2014 to 2018 as an ESL teacher, where they created and taught a project-based English 1 curriculum. Arika differentiated materials and provided instruction for a diverse range of abilities and learning differences. From 2012 to 2014, they worked at Newton South High School as a teacher of leadership and diversity, ESL humanities, and drama. Arika has also worked as a guest teacher and drama workshop leader at the Beyond I.Q. Conference from 2006 to 2014. In addition, they worked as a tutor at Axiom Learning from 2012 to 2013, providing 1-on-1 and small-group instruction. Arika has experience as a costume designer and wardrobe supervisor at Stoops! Oliver Goldsmith’s Arika Stoops to Conquer, All Funked-Up! in 2013. Arika has also worked as an early childhood teacher and arts educator at Horizons for Homeless Children from 2010 to 2012, and as a theatre teacher, director, and 6th-grade advisor at The Winsor School from 2009 to 2010. Arika Nabutovsky obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Theatre Education and Performing Arts Design/Technology from Emerson College from the years 2000 to 2004. Arika then pursued an Ed.M. degree in Arts in Education from Harvard University between the years 2006 and 2008. Additionally, Arika has acquired several certifications, including certifications in English as a Second Language, English/Language Arts 5-8, English/Language Arts 9-12, and Theater K-12 from the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
