Julia Métraux

Julia Métraux is a dedicated disability reporter with extensive experience covering issues related to disability, chronic illness, and mental health. Currently serving as a Disability Reporter at Mother Jones since June 2023, Julia's work includes reporting stories that highlight the challenges faced by disabled individuals. Julia has held various roles in journalism, including Senior Fellow and Ben Bagdikian Fellow at Mother Jones, as well as an HEAL Fellow at Solutions Journalism Network since October 2023. Julia's contributions to health and disability journalism have appeared in numerous reputable publications, and Julia has also been involved in multiple internships and freelance positions that showcase a robust commitment to elevating the voices of marginalized communities. Julia holds a Master of Journalism degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and has a background in Global Studies and French language studies from other esteemed institutions.
