Antony Courtney

Co-Founding Engineer at MotherDuck

Antony Courtney is a Co-Founding Engineer at MotherDuck. Before that, they were a Principal Engineer at Snowflake, helping develop Snowflake's Web UI. Prior to that, they were an Engineering Manager at Facebook.

Antony has also worked as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where they ran a team responsible for developing Goldman's proprietary software platform (SecDb) used for derivatives pricing, risk management and large scale data analysis across all of the firm's trading desks.

Courtney has also worked as a Sr. Member of Technical Staff at Galois and as a Grad Student at Yale University, where they co-authored Yampa, an implementation of Functional Reactive Programming using Arrows.

Antony began their career as a programmer at IONA Technologies and later worked as a Summer Intern at PARC.

Anthony Courtney completed a B.A. in Computer Science at Trinity College Dublin before moving on to Yale University to complete their M.S., M. Phil., and Ph.D. in the same field.
