Boaz Leskes is the Co-Founding Engineer at MotherDuck. Boaz was previously the Elastic Cloud Tech Lead, responsible for the architecture and technical aspects of their SaaS infrastructure, spanning >50 datacenters, across 4 Cloud Service Providers, hosting stateful workloads - all in service of allowing users to get the most value of the Elastic Stack. Prior to that, they were a Distinguished Engineer at Elastic, where they played a key engineering role in the evolution of Elasticsearch. Boaz was directly responsible for evolving Elasticserach into a solid distributed storage system and part of Elastic's engineering leadership. Boaz's major contributions include setting a vision and executing on: Elasticsearch's concensus algorithms (in collaboration with Academia), implementing Sequence Numbers, and Cross Cluster Replication. Before that, they were the CTO at Buzzcapture from December 2009 to May 2013. Boaz was also the Manager Application Development at Medialab Solutions BV from January 2007 to November 2009, and the Manager Partners & Special Projects at Medialab Solutions BV from March 2006 to January 2007.

Boaz Leskes has a MA in Computational Science from the University of Amsterdam and a MA in Logic from the University of Amsterdam. Boaz also has a BSc. in Computer Science & Mathematics from Tel Aviv University.
