Michael Rich has a diverse work experience in the field of IT security and infrastructure. Michael started their career as a Developmental Engineer at USAF in 1996 and later served as a Launch Systems Engineer and a Student at USAF Intelligence Officer's Course. Michael then transitioned into operations roles and worked as an Operations Officer & System Integrator and as a Student at the Air Command and Staff College. Following that, they held various leadership positions in the USAF, including Headquarters Staff Officer, Commander, and Deputy Director of Nuclear Treaty Monitoring. In 2016, they joined MITRE as a Principal Cyber Security Engineer. Currently, they are serving as the Director of IT Security, Infrastructure, and Operations at Motion Picture Industry Pension & Health Plans. Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in information security and has obtained certifications such as OSCP and CISSP.

Michael Rich has a strong educational background in the field of engineering. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1996. Michael then went on to pursue a Master's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of New Mexico, which they completed in 1999.

In addition to their engineering education, Michael has also pursued further education in the military field. Michael attended Air Command and Staff College from 2008 to 2009, where they obtained a Masters of Military Operational Art and Science.

Michael Rich has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2001, they earned the certification of System Planning Research and Developmental Engineer - Level II from Defense Acquisition University. Michael later achieved the Program Manager - Level III certification from the same institution in 2011. Furthermore, they are also certified as an Offensive Security Certified Professional from Offensive Security, completed in 2014. Lastly, they obtained the CISSP certification from (ISC)² in 2015.
