Alexander Heatherington

Alexander Heatherington has a diverse work history, starting with their recent role at Motional as a Principal Engineer Team Lead in AV Test Engineering. Prior to that, they had multiple roles at TuSimple, including Operations Manager in the Autonomous Operations Group and MRC and Oversight Test Manager. In the latter role, they developed and led a team responsible for testing developmental subsystem validation for the Ghost Rider Project. Before TuSimple, Alexander served as a Systems Engineering Test Manager at Transdev North America and worked as a Vehicle Test Operator at Adecco. Alexander also has experience in the US Air Force Reserve as a C-5 Loadmaster and Health Services Technician. Additionally, they have held positions at Vanguard as a Retirement Specialist and at Benefis Health System as an Aeromedical Evacuation Coordinator. In the United States Air Force, they were an NCOIC of Special Activities.

Alexander Heatherington has a Master of Science (MSEM) degree in Engineering Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with a focus on Systems Engineering. Alexander also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science and Government from American Military University. In terms of aviation-related education, Alexander completed the Airline Career Pilot Program at Airline Transport Professionals (ATP) in 2016. Alexander also obtained an Associate's Degree in Aviation/Airway Management and Operations from the Community College of the Air Force in 2014 and a Private Pilot License from The University of North Dakota in 2011. Alexander has additional certifications including Introduction to Linux from LinkedIn and Commercial and Private Aircraft Pilot certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration.
