Haibin Lu

Haibin Lu is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in data and machine learning infrastructure within the autonomous vehicle industry. Currently serving as Director of Engineering at Motional, Haibin Lu leads over 70 engineers across the US and Singapore, focusing on the development of scalable data infrastructure and tools for evaluating autonomous vehicle performance. Previously, at Cruise, Haibin Lu was instrumental in launching Kubeflow Pipeline for ML orchestration, and during tenure at Google, contributions included optimizing ML for Search Ads 360 and Chromecast. Earlier roles included positions at Goldman Sachs and academic appointments as an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida and University of Missouri-Columbia. Haibin Lu holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Florida, along with MS and BS degrees in Electronic Engineering from Tsinghua University.
