Napat (Pat) Karnchanachari has extensive work experience in various engineering and academic roles.
From 2015 to 2016, Pat worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Melbourne, teaching classes, grading assignments, and assisting students with subject content.
In 2016, Pat also worked as a Tutor at Ormond College, providing academic support to students.
Pat then joined nuTonomy as an Autonomous Vehicle Intern from 2018 to 2019, gaining experience in the field of autonomous vehicles.
From 2019 to 2020, Pat served as a Master Thesis Student at Sevensense Robotics, focusing on practical reinforcement learning for Model Predictive Control on a real robot.
Continuing their career in robotics, Pat then joined Motional in 2020 as a Research Engineer, and later advanced to the roles of Senior Research Engineer and Senior Engineer, Team Lead.
During their time at Motional, Pat contributed to various research and engineering projects.
Additionally, Pat had earlier experiences at Akademischer Motorsportverein Zürich (AMZ) as Head of Control Systems and in vehicle dynamics controls and HV electronics.
Furthermore, Pat has experience as a Videographer and IT Assistant at Ormond College, where they provided IT support and assisted with troubleshooting.
Napat (Pat) Karnchanachari completed a Master of Robotics System and Control degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from ETH Zürich between 2017 and 2019. Prior to that, they attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Melbourne from 2013 to 2015.
