Andrew Ginns

Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Motorway

Andrew Ginns has a diverse work experience starting from 2012. Andrew worked as a Volunteer at Sunnyside Club Children's Home in 2012. In 2016, they served as the Photographic Society Marketing and Social Media Officer at the University of Birmingham and also had an internship as a PVR QA Execution Intern at Imagination Technologies. In 2017, they worked as a Business Intelligence Intern at Cathay Pacific Airways. From 2018-2019, they interned as a Data Science Intern at DNB. In 2019, they worked as a Data Scientist for multiple clients in Education, Oil, and Gas at Accenture. In 2020, they served as an AI Course Mentor at FutureLearn and also had a role as an AI Course Mentor in 2021. From 2021-2023, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at MICHELIN Connected Fleet, where they were responsible for technology and algorithms across all Data Science projects. Currently, they are working as a Lead Machine Learning Engineer at Motorway since 2024.

Andrew Ginns has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Advanced Computing - Machine Learning, Data Mining, and High-Performance Computing from the University of Bristol, which they completed from 2017 to 2018. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng. Hons) degree in Computer Systems Engineering with a minor in Business Management from the University of Birmingham, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Andrew'shigh school education was completed at Oundle School from 2008 to 2014. Additionally, Andrew has obtained several certifications including Microsoft Certified: DP-100 Azure Data Scientist Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, and they have completed the Career Essentials in Generative AI course by Microsoft and LinkedIn. Andrew also holds certifications in Machine Learning from Stanford University and has received the Dive Leader certification from BSAC. Andrew has also been awarded the Gold Crest Engineering Award by the British Science Association.
