Hala Alhamed

Hala Alhamed is a highly experienced global water specialist currently employed at the Islamic Development Bank since January 2020. Hala is also a task force member involved in water, energy, and food nexus policy development for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia since 2017, and serves as a senior project manager at Work4water since September 2015. Previous positions include asset management specialist at Waternet, chief of program section at the Syria Recovery Trust Fund, and senior civil engineer at the Ministry of Works. Hala holds a PDEng in Sewer Asset Management from Delft University of Technology and is pursuing another PDEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the same institution. Hala also earned a Master's Degree in Integrated Water Resource Management from Cologne University of Applied Sciences and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Damascus University.
