Amy Nixon

Amy Nixon, B.Kin, B.A., LL.B., GPC.D, OLY, is an experienced legal professional serving as a Board Member for YMCA Canada since June 2023 and as the General Counsel and University Secretary at Mount Royal University since June 2021, where responsibilities include leading the Office of General Counsel and University Secretariat. Previously, Amy chaired the Board of Governors for Curling Canada from October 2018 to July 2023 and held various legal positions at Mount Royal University from 2011 to 2019, focusing on legislative compliance, policy development, and legal counsel. Earlier legal experience includes serving as a Lawyer for the City of Calgary, specializing in prosecutions and litigation. Amy holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Calgary, along with a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Kinesiology, Mind Sciences.
