Jorge Alvarez

Assistant Vice President Of Operations at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida

Jorge Alvarez has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry, particularly in operations and radiology. Jorge started their career as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist at Medical Park Group in 2009 and eventually became an Operations Manager and then the Director of Operations. In these roles, they provided leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for radiology and diagnostic imaging services. Jorge also worked closely with executive leadership to develop and implement corporate and service strategies.

In 2015, Jorge joined Mount Sinai Medical Center Miami Beach as a CT Technologist on weekends. Jorge quickly advanced to become the Supervisor of the MRI Department and then the Radiology Manager. Since February 2020, they have served as the Director of Operations, assisting the AVP of Operations in leading the Comprehensive Cancer Center, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, and Pharmacy departments. Jorge is responsible for budget planning and administration, reviewing financial statistics, and ensuring the smooth operation of these departments.

Jorge Alvarez has an extensive education history in the healthcare sector. Jorge obtained an Executive MBA in Health Sector Management and Policy from the University of Miami in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Health Services Administration from Keiser University-Ft Lauderdale in 2016. Jorge also holds an Associate of Arts in Health Services Administration from the same institution, which they completed in 2015. Jorge'searliest degree is an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technology/Science - Radiographer, which they earned from the University of Miami in 2009. In addition to their academic achievements, Jorge has acquired several certifications, including Six Sigma Champion Certificate in 2017, Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in 2015, Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) from the State of Florida in 2009, and R.T. (R)(MR)(ARRT) from The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist in 2009.
