Esmeralda Ortiz

Esmeralda Ortiz currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District since December 2022. With a long-standing career at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula since April 2011, Esmeralda has held various leadership positions including Vice President and Senior Director of High School & Postsecondary Success Programs, as well as Director of College Success Programs. Esmeralda's experience includes serving as an External Reader for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of California, Berkeley and working as a College Advisor with AmeriCorps. Earlier roles include tutoring at Longfellow Middle School. Esmeralda holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of California, Davis, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
