Dr. Douglass Moss has a diverse range of work experience. Dr. Douglass started their career as a German Language Teacher at San Francisco State University from 1988 to 1992. Dr. Douglass then worked as a Speech Language Pathologist at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs from 1992 to 1994. After that, they served as the Facility Rehabilitation Director at NovaCare Rehabilitation from 1994 to 1995. Dr. Douglass then transitioned to the field of education, working as a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist at San Bernardino City Unified School District from 1995 to 1997. Dr. Douglass then became the Program Specialist/Coordinator for Learning and Communicative Challenges at the same school district from 1997 to 2000. From 2000 to 2011, they worked at Mountain View School District Ontario California in various roles, such as Lead Speech Language Pathologist/District Administrative Special Assignments and Director of Student Services. Dr. Douglass then served as the Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services at the same district from 2013 to 2017. Finally, they were appointed as the Superintendent/CEO of the Mountain View School District Ontario California in 2017.
Dr. Douglass Moss has a diverse education history. Dr. Douglass obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington from 1994 to 2001. Prior to this, they completed a Master of Science (M.S.) in Communicative Sciences and Disorders at St. Cloud State University from 1992 to 1994. In their undergraduate studies, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) double major in Germanic Languages, Literature and Linguistics, as well as African History at San Francisco State University from 1988 to 1992. During this time, they also pursued an academic minor in International Business and Law. Dr. Moss further expanded their educational expertise by completing a postgraduate program in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Azusa Pacific University from 1997 to 1998. Additionally, they pursued additional studies related to linguistics and justice in Chile and linguistics and anthropology in Mexico. To complete their high school education, Dr. Moss obtained a Zertifikat in Modern Language from Bundesgymnasium Lichtenfels Graz Österreich/Austria from 1986 to 1988.
