Candace Dean, an LADC and CASAC 2, has a diverse work experience in the field of substance abuse counseling.
Candace worked at Mountainside starting in 2017 and has held multiple roles over the years. Their most recent position was Director of Continuing Care and Alumni Relations, which they started in November 2021. Prior to that, they were the Manager of Continuing Care from February 2021 to November 2021, and the Assistant Manager of Continuing Care from January 2020 to February 2021. Candace initially joined Mountainside as a Continuing Care Case Manager in December 2017, where they worked until January 2020.
Before their time at Mountainside, Candace worked as a Substance Abuse Counselor at the Family Counseling Center for Recovery in 2017.
Their earlier work experience includes roles at the Midwestern Connecticut Council on Alcoholism, where they worked from 2012 to 2017. Candace started as a Substance Abuse Technician in September 2012 and then transitioned to the role of Client Care Coordinator from May 2014 to February 2017.
Throughout their career, Candace has gained extensive experience and expertise in substance abuse counseling and has taken on various roles to support individuals on their journey to recovery.
Candace Dean, LADC, CASAC 2 has a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor, which they obtained from Post University between 2018 and 2020. In addition to their degree, they hold various certifications related to addiction counseling. Candace is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, awarded by the State of Connecticut in October 2021. Candace is also a Certified Addictions Counselor, accredited by the Connecticut Certification Board, Inc. in July 2021. Moreover, they have obtained the credential of Credentialed Alcoholism And Substance Abuse Counselor from the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports in August 2021. These certifications further enhance their expertise in the field of addiction counseling.
