Michael Sanders

Michael Sanders, MBA has a diverse work experience. Michael is currently the Director of Project Management Office (PMO) at Mountaire Farms. Prior to this, they served as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CW3) in the U.S. Army Reserve, where they performed the duties of a technical leader, trainer, operator, manager, maintainer, sustainer, and advisor.

Michael also held various roles at Smithfield Foods, including Director of Enterprise Information Governance, Lean Manufacturing Manager, and Global Data Sync Manager. In these positions, they were responsible for data synchronization, reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Before joining Smithfield Foods, Michael worked at IBM as a Managing Consultant, leading projects such as the Army Learning Management System (ALMS) 4.0 Upgrade. Michael also served as a Senior Consultant at IBM.

Prior to their time at IBM, Michael was the Manager of Quality Assurance/FSO at SONEX Enterprises, Inc. In this role, they managed the Army Equipping Enterprise System (AE2S) initiative and served as a Facility Security Officer, ensuring compliance with government and company security policies.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments.

Michael Sanders earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Elon University in 2008. Michael later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from William & Mary, which they completed in 2016. In 2013, Michael attended Warrant Officer Candidate School, focusing on warrant officer training. Michael also attended the Army Quartermaster School in 2003, specializing in logistics. Additionally, they completed the Technical Logistics College - Warrant Officer Basic Course (WOBC) in 2014, emphasizing supply systems. Michael has an additional certification, the Army Basic Instructor Course, obtained from the Department of the Army.
