Doug Bell

Doug Bell has a diverse and extensive work experience in software development and consulting. Doug most recently worked as the Director of R&D Software and the VP of Software at Movano Inc. starting in 2018. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2018, they were a Software Consultant for a DNA editing startup where they designed and coded the software algorithm for the world's first DNA editing robot. In 2016, Doug owned a fault detection venture called Supreme Integrity LLC. From 1997 to 2018, they ran their own software consulting business called The Software Factory, Inc., where they specialized in real-time embedded, mobile, and application architecture. Doug also worked as an iPhone App Architect/Developer during that time. Doug has worked as a Real-time Embedded Software Consultant for various companies, including a Silicon Valley startup, EchoLabs, and Energous Corporation. Doug has also provided software consulting services for Teleflex/Vasonova, Sierra Photonics, and GENERAL DYNAMICS Advanced Information Systems, where they were part of a team developing signal intelligence products for defense. Throughout their career, Doug has been involved in a wide range of projects and technologies, including fault detection, DNA editing, machine learning, sensor pattern recognition, and embedded systems.

Doug Bell attended California State University - East Bay from 1975 to 1977, studying physics. Doug then transferred to the University of California, Berkeley in 1978 and continued their education there until 1979, majoring in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS).
