Shawn Shafner

Shawn Shafner is an accomplished founder and executive director of The People's Own Organic Power Project (The POOP Project) since April 2010, where innovative approaches to sustainability are emphasized. As a founding member of Constellation Chor Ensemble, Shawn contributes to a vibrant vocal performance group. With experience as a trainer at Move This World, Shawn focuses on mindfulness and social-emotional learning in educational environments. Involvement with Arts for All showcases expertise in curriculum writing and program management for integrated arts education. Additionally, Shawn plays a vital role as an early childhood educator and innovative ritual facilitator at STORAHTELLING LAB SHUL INC, developing performances and workshops that bridge diverse communities. Previous roles include teaching artist coach at Urban Arts Partnership and editorial assistant at Best Effect, alongside acting credits in various productions, including Birthright Israel NEXT and The Backyardigans Live! Shawn holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from New York University and has participated in an Environmental Leadership Program.
