Movement
Alexa VanSchaardenburg began their work experience in 2012 as a childcare provider, a role they held until August 2021. In 2019, they started working at Movement, where they held various roles including Climbing Programs Instructor, Climbing Gym Operations Specialist, Operations Supervisor, and Youth Climbing Team Coach. In their roles at Movement, they focused on building a supportive community, providing constructive feedback, managing customer service, and implementing innovative solutions. In 2023, Alexa joined Turing School of Software & Design as a Student in Frontend Software Development.
Alexa VanSchaardenburg pursued their education at the Colorado School of Mines from the year 2019 to 2021. Although they did not obtain a degree, they focused their studies on metallurgy and materials engineering during this period. Later, in 2023, Alexa attended the Turing School of Software & Design, where they obtained a certificate in front end engineering.

MISSION To create community, share passion and inspire philantrophy. Founded in 2017, Movement (formerly El Cap) is the largest nationwide network of indoor climbing facilities. Movement is committed to growing the climbing community through a shared vision for outstanding customer service, inspirational designs, and highly engaged communities. Movement gyms feature bouldering, top-roping and lead climbing, as well as amenities like yoga studios, functional fitness, cardio zones and retail gear shops. Each facility caters to participants of all abilities – from competitive athletes to weekend adventurers and families. Presently, Movement is represented in Baltimore, Washington D.C., Bay Area, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Orange County, and Portland.
