Monica Ayhens-Madon

Monica Ayhens-Madon is an experienced community and marketing professional currently serving as the Community and Marketing Coordinator for Thunderbird at Mozilla since April 2024. Monica's previous role as Contract Marketing Support for the Thunderbird Project involved managing social media engagement and providing donor care and technical support. Prior to that, Monica worked as an Ubuntu Community Representative at Canonical, focusing on community processes, and as a Writing Center Tutor at Gwinnett Technical College, where Monica developed workshops and streamlined client data reporting. Additionally, Monica has a background in academia, having served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Alabama. Monica's early career included a customer-facing role as a bookseller and ordering assistant at Tattered Cover Bookstore. Monica holds a Master of Arts in Maritime Studies from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts in Ancient/Classical Greek Language and Literature from DePauw University.
