John Salzinger has a long and varied career in business, media, and communications. John started their career in 1996 as a Master Controller and Video Editor for ABC News. John then moved to Associated Press in 1999 as a Multimedia Producer. In 2003, they became a Relationship Manager for Heartland Payment Systems. From 2010 to 2011, they held positions at EPSG, gopogo, llc, and The Clever Rooster Company. In 2012, they founded MPOWERD Inc. and served as its Founder, Inventor, and Chief Business Development Officer. In this role, they created an integrated impact focused business model and impacted 4 million+ lives without reliable access to electricity. John was also named on 10 patents in 10 years, including an omnibus on Luci family of solar technologies. In 2015, they became an Advisory Council Member for The Lawrence Herbert School of Communication at Hofstra University. In 2018, they were named a Social Ventures Network Innovation Entrepreneur for Investors' Circle-Social Venture Network | IC-SVN. Finally, in 2022, they joined the American Sustainable Business Network as a member of the ASBN Corporate Transparency & Disclosure Working Group.

John Salzinger has attended four schools in their educational history. John studied Sociology at Hofstra University, Communications at Ithaca College, Fine Art Photography at the International Center of Photography, and Echolocation at The School for Field Studies.
