Maundu Makau

Maundu Makau has over nine years of experience in the audit sector. In 2022, they began working as the Head of Internal Audit for Mr. Green Trading Africa Kenya Ltd. Prior to this, they worked as an Internal Audit Manager for Liberty Group South Africa from 2018 to 2022. In this role, they were responsible for the end-to-end execution of audit assignments, planning, fieldwork, and preparation of board audit papers. Maundu also had a broad scope of responsibility, including group and entity wide risk assessments, stakeholder management, annual audit planning, board reporting, processes review, operational audits, financial audits, agreed upon procedures, IFRS trainings, and regulatory compliance assessment. From 2013 to 2018, they worked as an Audit Senior for KPMG East Africa. In this role, they managed audit assignments of up to 20 team members, was responsible for client account management, and provided timely reviews and feedback to audit associates.

Maundu Makau attended Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology from 2009 to 2013, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) in Accounting and Finance.
