Simone Thomas

Associate Director, Donor Finance at MSI Reproductive Choices

Simone Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Tax Assistant at Huntleigh Healthcare. In 2009, they briefly worked as a Teacher at Caras Alegres. From 2009 to 2013, Simone worked at Ernst & Young as an Executive Auditor, gaining experience with large and medium-sized clients. Taking a career break in 2013, Simone returned to work in 2014 as an Audit Senior at Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP, specializing in the charity and not-for-profit sector. At Plan International UK, starting in 2016, they served as a Grants Accountant, focusing on financial management and donor compliance for EC and DFID-funded projects. Simone then moved on to MSI Reproductive Choices, where they held several roles including Donor Finance Business Partner, Donor Finance Manager, and Head of Donor Finance. In these roles, they managed teams, reviewed and developed systems and processes, conducted due diligence on partners, and handled financial management and oversight for various donors and projects.

Simone Thomas completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and Finance at The University of Sheffield from 2005 to 2008. In December 2012, they obtained a certification in CA from ICAS.
