Lauren Ashton

Lauren Ashton, M.A., serves as the Principal at Walnut Acres Elementary School within the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, recognized as a 2023 California Distinguished School. In addition, Lauren leads Project ARISE, an innovative literacy initiative aimed at enhancing reading instruction in California. Previous roles include Principal at West Portal Elementary School and Assistant Principal at the same institution in the San Francisco Unified School District, as well as extensive teaching experience within the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. Lauren's educational credentials include a Doctor of Education in progress at Saint Mary's College of California, a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from UC Berkeley, and multiple teaching credentials from Mills College.
