Karen Sue Johnson has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Karen Sue has worked as a Communications Director at Michigan Technological University, where they managed communications and marketing outreach for the College of Computing and the Institute of Computing and Cybersystems. Karen Sue also held positions as an Office Assistant in the Office of Advancement and the Memorial Union at Michigan Tech. Prior to their time at the university, Karen owned and operated their own communications business called KJ Communications, LLC. Karen Sue also worked as a Production Baker at Roy's Pasties and Bakery. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Business from Northwood University, which they completed between 1976 and 1978. Karen Sue also holds additional certifications in Content Creation: Strategy and Tools from LinkedIn and as a Mental Health First Aider from Mental Health First Aid A.C.T., both of which they obtained in 2023.
