Andrew Tomaka

Andrew Tomaka has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Andrew is currently employed as a Senior Software Engineer at Mudflap since December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at OAK Network as a Software Engineer from May 2022 to September 2022.

From 2021 to 2022, Andrew worked at benefitbay™ as a Senior Lead Software Engineer. Andrew'sresponsibilities included planning, leading, and assisting in the development efforts of a legacy application.

Before that, Andrew held various roles at BOLD PENGUIN. Andrew worked as a Lead Software Engineer from October 2020 to June 2021, during which they maintained and developed new features for multiple large applications. Andrew also coordinated cross-team features and facilitated developer experience by providing a Golang CLI tool. Andrew was also a Senior Software Engineer at BOLD PENGUIN from July 2019 to October 2020.

Prior to their tenure at BOLD PENGUIN, Andrew gained valuable experience at Michigan State University. Andrew worked as an Information Technologist III, II, and I from 2012 to 2019. In this role, they mentored cross-team developers, deployed APIs to AWS, and developed and maintained Ruby on Rails API applications.

Andrew also worked at DriveOnGroup as a Technical Director and Software Engineer from 2016 to 2017. In these roles, they coordinated development talent, corrected performance issues, and developed Ruby on Rails APIs.

Early in their career, Andrew worked as a Software Consultant at p5dev, LLC from 2006 to 2013. Andrew worked directly with small business owners, built web applications, and maintained hosting servers.

Lastly, Andrew's work experience began at Michigan State University as a Student Employee from 2002 to 2007.

Andrew Tomaka attended Michigan State University from 2002 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science. During the same period, they also pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Media and Information at Michigan State University, which they completed in 2013.

In terms of certifications, Andrew obtained an AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in May 2018, and an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification in January 2017.
