Senior Manfucaturing Engineer, Project Manager and OPEX Leader at Mueller Co., LLC

Issac Castaneda has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Issac started their career as a Project Engineer at artcobell, where they were involved in product design and development using CAD/CAM tools. Issac also worked on tool, die, and mold design and development.

After that, Isaac joined WoodCrafters as a Design Draftsman, where they focused on new product design and development. Issac also improved existing products and molds using DFSS methodologies.

Isaac then moved on to TYCO Flow Controls, where they held multiple roles. As a Manufacturing Engineer, they strategically created and improved process flows for CNC machining, plating, and shipping operations. Issac also led a team of CNC machine programmers and programmed and troubleshooted welding robot cells. Later, they became a CNC & Welding Manufacturing Engineer - Supervisor, leading a team of CNC machine programmers to create optimum programs for cutting and welding tasks. Issac also played a key role in new product process design and project planning.

Next, Isaac worked at Bettcher Manufacturing LLC as a CNC Project Manager. In this role, they led CNC Manufacturing Area operations and generated N code for CNC machines for new product launches. Issac also negotiated strategic paths for new product launches with customers.

Isaac then joined Keppel AmFELS, LLC as a Welding Inspector and QC Superintendent - Welding Engineer. Their responsibilities included designing and developing welding procedure specifications, coordinating welding qualification tests, and inspecting structures and piping to ensure compliance with codes and contract requirements.

At Subsea 7, Isaac worked as a Contract Certified Welding Inspector, where they conducted front-end and back-end inspections, visual inspections on pipes, and weld monitoring using ALX II machine.

Isaac also worked as a Contract Quality Assurance Consultant at Omni Quality Assurance, providing quality assurance services.

Currently, Isaac holds a position at Mueller Co. as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Project Manager, and OPEX Leader. Issac is the Corporate Subject Matter Expert in manufacturing processes and is responsible for the Brownsville, TX plant's machining, assembly, and warehouse operations. Issac manages capital budgets, plans for cost savings, and coordinates the implementation of equipment and upgrades. Additionally, they lead a multi-site team to achieve $1M annual cost savings using six sigma and lean methodologies. Issac also facilitates and leads Kaizen events.

Throughout their career, Isaac has demonstrated expertise in various engineering disciplines, including manufacturing processes, welding, quality assurance, project management, and capital budgeting.

Issac Castaneda obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they studied from 2000 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, they have acquired several certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Mueller Water Products in November 2022, ASQ Certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB) from ASQ - World Headquarters in August 2021, AWS CWI from the American Welding Society in July 2014, and ACCP Level II VT from the American Society of Non-Destructive Testing in November 2016.
