Ethiopis Tafara is the current Vice President and Chief Risk, Legal and Administrative Officer at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency. Ethiopis has previously held the positions of Vice President Compliance and ESG Risk & General Counsel at the International Finance Corporation from July 2015 to September 2019, and Vice President and General Counsel at IFC - International Finance Corporation from April 2013 to June 2015.

From January 2003 to December 2013, Ms. Tafara was the Director at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where they directed a team of 50 people and advised the Commission and senior staff on international legal and policy issues that affect its' regulatory and enforcement program. Ethiopis also interacted with foreign policy makers and regulators as well as financial institutions regarding securities regulations issues, and served as Head of SEC delegation of the International Organization of Securities Commissions; SEC Deputy to the Financial Stability Board; and SEC Deputy to the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation Monitoring Board.

Ethiopis Tafara attended Princeton University for their undergraduate degree and Georgetown University Law Center for their Juris Doctor.
