Alejandro La Greca

Bioinformatics and Data Analysis Team Lead at MultiplAI Health

Alejandro La Greca has a diverse work experience. Alejandro currently serves as the Bioinformatics and Data Analysis Team Lead at MultiplAI Health since June 2020. Alejandro is also engaged in educational activities as a Substitute Teacher at Instituto Julieta Lanteri since August 2022.

In their previous roles, Alejandro worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Fleni Institute-CONICET from August 2016. Their research focused on the role of non-coding RNAs in the differentiation of human stem cells, with a particular emphasis on circular RNAs (circRNAs) in cardiac differentiation. Alejandro used molecular biology techniques and massive parallel transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) to study their functional role and potential use as biomarkers of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and treatment prognosis.

Before that, Alejandro served as a Professor at Instituto Superior de Formación Docente Nº 116 starting in August 2015.

During their PhD studies at IBYME-CONICET, from March 2011 to July 2016, Alejandro researched the transcriptional fluctuations of R5020 and estrogen target genes in endometrial cancer. Alejandro analyzed the binding events of their receptors to DNA and their association with the three-dimensional architecture of chromosomes. Alejandro had previously worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the same institute from August 2008 to February 2011.

Alejandro also had teaching experience as a Teaching Assistant at Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, UBA from March 2010 to February 2011.

Alejandro La Greca received their Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a focus on Molecular Biology from the University of Buenos Aires. Alejandro completed this program from 2004 to 2011. Following their undergraduate studies, Alejandro pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Buenos Aires. Alejandro successfully completed this program from 2011 to 2016.
