Multitude Bank, part of the Multitude Group located in Malta, is looking for an experienced Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer. This role involves supporting the Head of Legal and Compliance to maintain regulatory standards, advising on compliance risks, and liaising with regulatory bodies. You’ll ensure our control framework aligns with evolving regulations and contribute to governance and compliance training. Your expertise in financial services, particularly in banking compliance, will be key in guiding our compliance efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Legal and Compliance and Deputy Head of Regulatory Compliance in maintaining an effective control framework and ensuring adherence to applicable external laws, internal policies, and market practices.

  • Serve as a key advisor on regulatory impact analysis, ensuring that compliance standards are in line with evolving regulations.

  • Act as a liaison with relevant regulatory bodies, assisting with regulatory returns and filings, including the preparation of the Annual Compliance Plan.

  • Support internal compliance reviews to assess regulatory and policy adherence, prepare reports on findings, and follow up on corrective actions to ensure effective resolution.

  • Assist with thematic reviews from regulatory authorities by coordinating data collection, preparing documentation, and ensuring timely submissions. Implement and monitor recommended actions to maintain compliance.

  • Contribute to the compliance risk assessment process, identifying potential risk areas and advising on mitigating actions.

  • Actively support the Regulatory Compliance agenda in governance forums and provide targeted compliance training to employees.

  • Oversee an independent Compliance Management System, reporting directly to the Accountable Manager, and ensure regular updates in line with new standards and regulations.

  • Develop and maintain a Compliance Monitoring Manual, ensuring it reflects current regulations and standards in aviation.

  • Oversee incident reporting and the coordination of corrective actions, follow up on their effectiveness, analyse trends, and communicate results to management.

  • Ensure compliance with all license and permit conditions, adhering to codes of practice and managing compliance registers.

  • Update and manage compliance policies and procedures to align with regulatory developments and oversee compliance evaluations.

  • Coordinate reporting to regulatory authorities and prepare comprehensive compliance reports.

  • Provide guidance on regulatory obligations and liaise with authorities on compliance matters.

  • Review legal notices and advise on regulatory changes, leading efforts to ensure adherence to evolving legal and regulatory frameworks.

  • Conduct annual risk evaluations, manage assessments for outsourced activities, review marketing materials, and monitor regulatory developments to ensure product compliance.

Your Profile

  • Minimum of 2-3 years in a compliance or risk-related role within the financial services industry, preferably with exposure to Banking.

  • A degree or certification in Banking, Finance, Risk Management, or Compliance is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with key regulations such as CRR, PSDII, and CCD, as well as EU asset management and financial services industry requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to objectively assess issues, exercise sound judgment, and present impartial recommendations.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders.

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure.

  • Knowledge of Banking and payment products, services and the applicable regulatory requirements.
