Dana Ilie

Dana Ilie is a software engineer at elrond. Dana previously worked as a software developer at NerdsComputing from May 2017 to December 2020. At NerdsComputing, they worked on a web project where they used a Web API for the back-end and Angular 2 for the front-end. Dana also worked with Ionic for the mobile app. In the same context, they integrated the Identity server for keeping all the users' information and then with their permission giving them access to multiple apps.

Ilie continued working on Angular 2/4 this time for a platform that aggregated multiple vendors. Here they had to create an interface for them to see different reports and charts. Dana saw more of the importance of building reusable components even if at the beginning it looked like it was taking more time. In the future, it would actually save time.

Another project was in the automation field, it was a solution for a self-service car wash. Here they saw the importance of divided depending on their purpose. For the raspberry, they used Windows IoT and for the tablet, they built a universal Windows APP and then another big component was the back-end that they used Web API. On this project, they had the chance to do some coaching and it was a nice experience because they had to have things really clear in their head so they could explain to others.

The project they are working now is a platform for booking for ferries. The solution was a monolith, a WebForms Solution written in Visual Basic. They started re-writing in MVC core and at the same time splitting it in Micro-services. Here they worked with AWSCognito for authenticating the user and building APIs for different Micro-services. Here they learned about the importance of building small services that don't depend on others.

Dana Ilie attended the Science Faculty at the University of Lomonosov in Moscow, Russia and obtained a degree in computer science.
