Director of Business Development, Strategic Industries, (Remote within North America)

Reporting to the VP Business Development, the Director of Business Development, Strategic Industries will play a critical role in driving business growth by targeting emerging industries and cultivating new market opportunities. This leader will guide a team of sales professionals, building their capabilities and fostering a results-driven culture. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in expanding into new markets, experience selling into multiple verticals including Healthcare, paired with strong leadership and coaching skills. 

In this position you will have the opportunity to play a key role in building, leading, and managing a highly visible and motivated sales team.

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coaching and inspiring the team to develop in their careers and to achieve individual, team, and organization sales targets.
  • Building a strong sales pipeline using appropriate tools, tactics, operational plans, and processes to drive revenue growth.
  • Contributing to the corporate sales strategy, while working collaboratively with cross- functional teams to achieve company objectives.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

As a Sales leader, you will be responsible for leading and coaching the Business Development Executives with a strategic and a growth mindset to achieve sales targets, all the while being able to roll up your sleeves and help get the job done and build long-lasting relationships with clients, and partners.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated sales professional with strong leadership capabilities, and a desire to coach and mentor others with proven Enterprise Software Sales experience. The successful candidate will have experience demonstrating operational excellence, taking initiatives, and winning sales to the sales revenue goals of a fast-paced growing company.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Strategic Leadership: 

  • Assist in the development and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to penetrate emerging industries.

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align efforts on market-entry initiatives.

Team Leadership: 

  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop the Strategic Industries sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the team.

  • Provide regular coaching and performance feedback to ensure professional growth and success.

Sales Management: 

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to support long-term revenue growth.

  • Analyze industry trends, client needs, and competitive landscape to inform sales strategies.

  • Oversee deal negotiations and manage complex sales cycles with prospective clients.

  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics to ensure team success and track progress toward goals.

Client Relationships: 

  • Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with prospective and current clients.

  • Represent Multiview Financial Software at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote our solutions.

Key Relationships:

  • Vice President of Business Development

  • Director of Business Development

  • Business Development Executives and Solutions Engineer Team

  • All internal and external stakeholders

Work Environment:

  • As a member of Multiview’s leadership team – commit to both Multiview’s corporate values and leadership commitments.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision

  • Travel as required 10-35%

Works with multiple teams cross-functionally and must know how to effectively address the needs of each team while always keeping the client’s outcomes as the driver.

  • Problem Solving - Proactive in anticipating and resolving complex problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to meet the requirements of the project are required.
  • Conflict Management – conflict can arise from time to time, the Sales leaders are skilled negotiators and conflict managers. They know how to address both sides of the argument and can provide helpful solutions for everyone.
  • Organization – Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure a smooth sales win experience and operational excellence.
  • Initiative – Seeks, accepts, and completes new tasks using own initiatives; works independently with little supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven track record of success in driving sales expansion in emerging industries.

  • 8+ years of sales experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.

  • Exceptional leadership and coaching abilities, with experience in building and scaling high-performing teams.

  • Strong understanding of sales management fundamentals, including pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM utilization.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Travel approximately 30% of the time to meet with clients, attend industry events, and close deals.

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of ERP, financial software, or technology solutions.

  • Experience in market-entry strategies and launching products in new industries.
