Kwofe Coleman

President & CEO at MUNICIPAL THEATRE ASSOCIATION OF ST LOUIS

Kwofe Coleman is the current President & CEO of the Municipal Theatre Association of St. Louis. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Director of The Muny from November 2018 to January 2022. In this role, Coleman took an active role in overseeing the organizational, financial and business affairs of The Muny, while embracing and articulating the artistic and institutional vision mission of the institution. This included the development of annual budgets, determining income and expense assumptions, and overseeing those revenue and expenditures. Coleman also took a leadership role in developing new and expanded income streams and creating strategic initiatives to expand and deepen The Muny’s community engagement, educational and outreach efforts.

Prior to their role as Managing Director, Coleman served as the Director of Marketing and Communications for The Muny from April 2008 to December 2012. In this role, they were responsible for developing and executing marketing and communications strategies that increased awareness and attendance for The Muny’s events and productions. Kwofe also oversaw the creation and implementation of all advertising, media relations, promotional and collateral materials.

Before joining The Muny, Coleman served as the Digital Communications Manager for The Southern Center for Human Rights from August 2007 to March 2008. In this role, they managed all digital communications for the organization, including website content, email communications and social media outreach. Kwofe also created and implemented strategies to increase online visibility and engagement with the organization’s target audiences.
