George Acorn

Director, Community Services at Municipality of Clarington

George Acorn has extensive experience in the public sector, specifically in community and facility services. George began their career in the Town of Markham in 1989 as a Facility Coordinator, where they worked until 1999. In 2001, they joined the Municipality of Clarington as Manager of Facility Services, a role they held until 2019. During their time with the Municipality of Clarington, they also served as Acting Director of Community Services before being promoted to Director in 2020.

George Acorn received a Diploma in Business Administration - Marketing from Centennial College in 1982. In 2009, they obtained a Master's Certificate in Municipal Management from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. Currently, in 2019, they are pursuing a degree in Public Administration at Ryerson University.
