School Town of Munster
Kathleen LaPorte is an experienced educator at Munster High School, where Kathleen has taught AP Human Geography, Ethnic Studies, and World History since October 2007, while also instructing Family and Consumer Science courses. Kathleen has served as the Student Government Sponsor since July 2012, coordinating numerous school events, and previously coached the Freshmen Softball team and sponsored Project X, a service organization. Additionally, Kathleen owned and operated a Smoothie King franchise from September 2005 to March 2008. Academically, Kathleen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies-Secondary Education from Indiana University Bloomington and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in History at Purdue University Northwest.

Comprised of one high school, one middle school (grades 6-8) and three elementary schools (grades K-5), the School Town of Munster enrollment is 4100 students. STM is one of the original ten school corporations in the state of Indiana to receive District Accreditation from AdvancED. Our school district is proud of its nationally recognized academic programs and teams.
