Ged McNamara

Ged McNamara has a diverse work experience in the field of athletic performance and coaching. Ged is currently serving as the Head of Athletic Performance at Munster Rugby since November 2020. Prior to this, they held the role of Lead Athletic Development Coach at the Munster Academy from October 2019 to November 2020.

Before joining Munster Rugby, Ged worked as the Head Coach at Gold Standard Fitness from September 2013 to November 2020. In this role, they managed the gym and implemented staff upskilling and coaching center management.

Ged also has experience working with rugby teams. Ged served as the Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach for the National Squad of the Georgia Rugby Union from January 2019 to October 2019. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Strength and Conditioning Coach for the National Squad from July 2016 to January 2019. Additionally, they acted as the Head of Performance (Acting) at the Georgian Rugby Union from October 2017 to December 2017.

Furthermore, Ged has worked with the Clare GAA Senior Hurling team, first as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach from January 2013 to September 2016, and later as the Head of Strength and Conditioning during the same period.

In terms of education, Ged worked as a Lecturer at Advanced Fitness Education from January 2013 to January 2016. Ged also served as a Volunteer Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Munster Rugby from an unspecified start date to February 2015.

Additionally, Ged gained managerial experience as the Manager of Energie Fitness Limerick from September 2010 to September 2013. In this role, they oversaw the day-to-day operations of the club and facilitated learning and development for the team.
