Paul Day

COO & Co-Founder at Muon Space

Paul Day is the current COO and co-founder of Muon Space. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Product Officer at Loft Orbital and was responsible for managing the aerospace operations including major hardware procurements, launch contracts, and spacecraft assembly integration and test. Paul also served as the Engineering Program Manager at Apple, where they led a program management team covering operations and execution for a hardware Special Project Group. Day has also worked at Terra Bella (a Planet company) as a Satellite Program Manager and GNC Hardware Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for the build, test, and launch of Skysat-2. Paul has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory. Additionally, they have served as a ME218 TA at Stanford University and an engineering intern at ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company.

Paul Day has a Ph.D. from Stanford University in Mechanical Engineering from 2008-2012 where they worked in the Biomimetics and Dextrous Manipulation Lab. Paul also has a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from 2006-2008 from Stanford University. Lastly, they have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University from 2002-2006 with a Robotics Minor.
