Kate Johnston Elkan

Kate Johnston Elkan has extensive experience in brand design and consulting. Kate is currently working as the Brand Design Lead at Mural since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the same role at CreativeX from September 2021 to March 2022. From May 2012 to September 2021, they worked as the Principal & Brand Consultant at Present Tense Studio. Kate also served as a Senior Presentation Designer at MasterClass from March 2019 to May 2020. Additionally, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Otis College of Art and Design from August 2017 to May 2020. Kate is a co-founder and Creative Director of The Women's Center for Creative Work from November 2013 to January 2019. Kate began their career as a Graphic Designer at FIDM from March 2006 to September 2009 and gained experience as a Design Intern at Los Angeles Magazine from June 2005 to December 2005.

Kate Johnston Elkan received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Classics from Pitzer College in 2002. Kate then pursued their Associate of Arts degree in Graphic Design from FIDM, graduating in 2006. Later, they attended the California Institute of the Arts and obtained their Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design in 2012.
