David Akman has a diverse work experience across various companies. David currently holds the position of Director of Manufacturing Strategy at Murata Power Solutions, starting in May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Manufacturing at Vecna Robotics from March 2021 to May 2023.
David previously worked at Prysm Systems Inc., where they held multiple roles including Senior Operations Manager, Principal Process Engineer, Senior Process Engineer, and Process Engineer. During their time there, they developed SQL and Excel models for product costs, material planning, and requisition, as well as implemented a defect and failure logging infrastructure and reporting system to improve yields and product cost.
David also worked at Prysm Inc. as the Safety Team Leader from January 2016 to September 2020. Before that, they were a Process Design Engineer at Panasonic - Marlborough Labs from June 2005 to July 2007. Overall, David has extensive experience in manufacturing strategy, operations management, process engineering, and safety leadership.
David Akman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2005. David later pursued an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University, completing the program between 2023 and 2026. In addition to their degrees, they have obtained certifications in "Coaching vs. Mentoring" from the American Institute of CPAs and "Syntrio US Workplace Harassment and Discrimination General Manager" from Syntrio in July 2023.
