Julia Latané

Julia Latané has a diverse work experience in the arts industry. Julia started their career as a Co-owner and Designer at Ba Restaurant from April 2012 to August 2016. Julia then worked as an Independent Contractor at various companies, including Art Handler/Preparator at Autry National Center from January 2008 to January 2014 and MOCA Tucson, where they served as the Founder and President of the Board from 1997 to 2001. Julia also worked at The Broad as an Author and Project Director for the Diversity Apprenticeship Program from September 2016 to May 2018, and as a Head Preparator from April 2014 to May 2018. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Art Preparation and Installation at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) since June 2018. Additionally, Julia worked as a Sculptor as a self-employed individual from 1990 to 2015.

Julia Latané began their education in 1987 at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where they studied Studio Art. Julia then pursued an apprenticeship in sculpture with Tadeusz Lukjanczyk from 1988 to 1991. Following this, they engaged in another apprenticeship, this time focusing on sculpture and glassblowing under Tom Philabaum from 1991 to 1992. Finally, Julia obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Studio Art with a specialization in Sculpture from the University of Arizona, where they attended from 1992 to 1997.
