Katie Kennedy has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Katie started their career as an Assistant to the Director of Publicity and Special Events at Warner Bros. Entertainment Group of Companies from February 2002 to March 2004. During this time, they assisted in organizing special events, managed press screenings, and maintained relationships with filmmakers and talent.

In 2004, Katie worked as an Account Manager in Corporate Marketing at Davie Brown Entertainment. Their responsibilities included serving as the main point of contact for clients such as Hewlett-Packard and Victoria's Secret. Katie also developed marketing plans and strategies aligned with brand initiatives and executed special events like the Sundance Film Festival and MTV Video Music Awards.

From 2006 to 2015, Katie served as the Director of Corporate Development at the Sundance Institute. Their role involved overseeing corporate partnerships and development strategies.

In 2015, they joined the Art Center College of Design as an Assistant Vice President of Strategic Partnerships. In this position, they collaborated with academic and administrative leadership, as well as Trustees and volunteer leadership, to secure substantial corporate investments.

Currently, Katie holds the position of Associate Vice President of Corporate and Foundation Partnerships at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) since November 2016. Their responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of partner identification, solicitation, and integration to achieve the museum's ambitious goals. Katie also works closely with the LACMA leadership team to develop effective strategies.

Katie Kennedy completed their high school education at El Modena High School from 1994 to 1997. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences degree in Psychology at the University of Southern California, graduating in the years 2001.
