Lamia Dabboussy has a diverse work experience in the arts, culture, and media industries. Currently, they work as the Director of Engagement at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia. Prior to this, they founded their own company, Mighty Culture, where they served as an Arts and Media Consultant, specializing in strategic projects, content development, and business diversification. Lamia also served as a Board Trustee at Factory International.

In terms of their previous roles, Lamia worked at the BBC in various positions, including Director of Arts, Executive Editor of BBC Arts, Head of Planning and Brand Insight, and Senior Audience Planner. Lamia played a crucial role in developing audience-focused programming strategies, overseeing commissioning activities, and driving growth and change in audience planning and brand insight.

Before their time at the BBC, Lamia was a Strategic Lead for the SBS Impacts Project & Book at the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Australia, where they led a partnership and designed a research project focused on multicultural policy and broadcasting. Additionally, they worked as a Policy and Public Affairs Exec at the State Chamber of Commerce NSW and pursued contract and freelance production opportunities.

From 1996 to 1999, Lamia Dabboussy attended UNSW, where they studied Media, Sociology, and Political Science. Lamia completed their BA (Media and Communications) during this period.
