Anna Berwick has extensive work experience in various organizations. Anna is currently serving as the Head of Strategy and Governance at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa since August 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Group Manager for Organization Strategy & Performance at Te Aka Whai Ora | Māori Health Authority from July 2022 to August 2023. Anna also served as the Programme Office Director at Interim Māori Health Authority from February 2022 to July 2022.
In the Ministry of Health New Zealand, Anna held multiple roles. Anna was the Programme Director for Health & Disability System Reforms from May 2021 to February 2022. In this role, they were responsible for implementing and managing the Ministry's role in the reforms. Anna also served as a Programme Manager for Ministry Strategy and Performance from October 2020 to May 2021, where they oversaw strategic performance and managed significant programs of work. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal Advisor for Ministry Strategy and Performance from June 2020 to October 2020.
Anna also gained experience in other organizations such as the Ministry for Primary Industries, where they worked as a Principal Advisor for Planning and Reporting from September 2019 to May 2020. Anna also worked as a Senior Advisor for Engagement & Events at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, New Zealand, from October 2018 to October 2019.
Earlier in their career, Anna worked at ACC New Zealand as a Portfolio Advisor from November 2013 to July 2018 and as a Case Manager from July 2007 to November 2013. Anna also worked as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer at BodyTech Fitness and Spa from 2003 to June 2005, and as a Life Guard at The Olympic Pools and Fitness Centre from January 2000 to July 2003.
Anna Berwick attended St Cuthberts College from 1996 to 2000 for secondary school education. Anna then went on to Auckland University of Technology from 2001 to 2003, where they pursued a degree in Undergraduate Bachelor Sport & Recreation. Following this, they continued their education at Auckland University of Technology from 2003 to 2007, earning a Bachelor of Health Science in Psychology with a field of study in Health Science.
