Leonardo Santana Zubieta has compelling work experience in the field of Film & Audiovisual arts education and media production. Leonardo began their career at Televisa, México City. He has taught in Spain, Puerto Rico, and the US. In 2018, Leonardo joined the Museum of the Moving Image as a Senior Museum Educator. During this time, he also served as the Education Department Filmmaker in Residence from January 2020 to January 2021. In August 2020, Leonardo became the Museum's Media Production Manager, and was responsible for producing live-streamed programming and video content. Leonardo then transitioned to the role of Senior Manager of Education, where he coordinated partnerships, produced audiovisual media, and managed staff. Leonardo was promoted to Associate Director of Education and has been serving as the Director of Education since September 2022. In addition to their work at the Museum, Leonardo also worked as a production assistant for Pedro Almodóvar.
Leonardo Santana Zubieta graduated from the Madrid Film School ECAM (Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid) after earning his bachelor's in Art History.
