Maria Ortiz-Laboy

Maria Ortiz-Laboy is an accomplished clarinet professor and instructor with extensive experience in music education. Currently serving as a Clarinet Professor at South Carolina State University since September 2022 and as a Clarinet Lecturer at Clemson University since January 2020, Maria teaches applied clarinet lessons and coordinates the Clemson Clarinet Ensemble. Additionally, Maria has been a clarinet instructor for Musika Lessons since July 2019, providing lessons to a wide range of students. Previous roles include customer and ambassador care at Lisa's Clarinet Shop, and an Adjunct Professor of Clarinet at Lander University from August 2015 to May 2021. Maria's educational background includes a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Performance from the University of South Carolina, a Master's degree in Music Performance from The University of Akron, and a Bachelor of Musical Arts from the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico.
