Akifa Khan

Akifa Khan is a seasoned professional with a background in communications, political science, and sociology from the University of Southern California. As Co-Founder of Khantent since December 2017, Akifa successfully completed the Academy’s Diverse Reader Training Workshop in 2022. In the role of Hollywood Bureau Project Specialist at the Muslim Public Affairs Council since April 2015, Akifa has consulted on scripts for accurate portrayals of Muslims and organized workshops for aspiring writers. Additional experience includes participation in the Newground Changemaker Fellowship, work as a researcher and producer for the Emma Bowen Foundation, and an internship with the Sundance Institute. Previous entrepreneurial endeavors include founding ZZbabies, and active involvement in initiatives such as Emerge California and Teach For America highlights a commitment to social equity and education.
