Martin Doherty

Martin Doherty has a long work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Martin started their career in 2004 as a Security Analyst at Vertex Data Science. In 2006, they joined HP as a Managed Security Services Engineer and progressed to Managed Security Services Senior Engineer, Managed Security Services Operations Manager and Head of Managed Security Services - Asia, Pacific and Japan. In 2015, they took a Travel Break. In 2016, they joined Commonwealth Bank as an Operations Manager, Cyber Security Centre and Executive Manager, Cyber Defence. In 2019, they became Head of Cyber Risk and Compliance at Macquarie Group. In 2022, they joined CyRise as an Industry Advisor and in 2021 they became Head of Cyber and Risk at mx51, where they are accountable for the product and organisational cybersecurity and risk management.

Martin Doherty obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Computer Science from The University of Sheffield between 2001 and 2004. In 2015, they completed a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from UTS College. In March 2017, they were certified as a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA.
